I will spare you the grisly images. When I tossed it in the trash this morning the top third slid off like butter on a stack of pancakes.

Yesterday I Smelled Autumn
On our drive back from the Bay we passed by a roadside pumpkin stand. Over the weekend the air had a familiar dry crispness to it. An owl flew in front of our car after we had the season's last ice cream sundae from Real McCoy's stand. This newspaper pumpkin is really appealing.
