NJ State Fair Cuteness Recap

At the beginning of August, we visited the old Sussex County Farm and Horse Show and of course I had to document the cuteness going on in the animal tents.

I guess bunnies like pinecones!

This stack of bunnies were all set for judging. We saw some getting examined and scored by 4H officials. I'm guessing there's more to it than just being adorable, because competition was tight in that regard!

The chicks were doing their part too. We happened to walk by while some eggs were hatching. Ahhh, the miracle of life.

They even look good when they grow up!

I never get tired of these quackers. I was happy to see that they've gained in popularity. Several afro-sporting ducks were being shown this year.

In addition to the classic farm personalities, several exhibitors brought the new kids on the block to the show.

See that sign in the background? This isn't a zoo, folks!

Farm Show 2011 Recap

It's been over a month since we visited this year's Sussex County Farm and Horse Show in NJ, but I just had to backtrack and share the photographic proof with you.

We caught this bug-eyed little calf and his mommy chilling under the livestock tents at the end of a long, hot day.

So cute!

Now that's one fine lookin' stud with one fine lookin' tractor.

This little lion head bunny put on quite the show.

What an adorabibble little blob of fluff.

We stormed through the chicken, rooster, and duck tents chasing after a two and a half year old on her first real trip to the farm show. Needless to say, there wasn't any time for beautiful fowl shots. I don't remember what I liked about this one. I think maybe his face was kind of blueish.

Who isn't a sucker for baby animals saying, "Peep peep peep!"

Pretty bad picture but this fellow was really imposing looking. He didn't have a characteristically red comb. His was deep brown, black, and maroon.

Farm Show!

Over the weekend we attended the Sussex County Farm and Horse Show in northwestern New Jersey. It has become a summertime tradition for us and something I look forward to throughout the year. With all the car hubbub this year, we almost didn't make it. Luckily we pushed ourselves over the weekend and made time to get to the fairgrounds.
